Isaac Vanderburg

Isaac is the CEO of Launch Alaska and a Founding Board Member of Earthshot Ventures. In his first six years at Launch Alaska, Isaac led the organization to more than 10x growth in its annual operating budget, and grew its portfolio to more than 30 high-growth climate tech startups.

Isaac has managed two early stage investment funds, and in late 2021 was a founding board member of Earthshot Ventures, a $94 million climate tech VC fund - the first fund of its kind in Alaska. He completed the Energy Executive Leadership Program at the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) in Golden, CO as well the Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies program at Stanford.

Vanderburg sits on the Board of Commonwealth North, Greenstand.org, SXSW Pitch, and led the Energy & Energy Efficiency subcommittee and the Carbon Pricing subcommittee of Alaska's Climate Action Leadership Team under former Alaska Gov. Bill Walker. In 2019 Isaac offered testimony on the role of Energy Innovation to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. In 2023, he was appointed to Gov. Mike Dunleavy's Energy Security Task Force, co-chairing the Incentives & Subsidies Subcommittee

Isaac played four years of NCAA Division I soccer and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in El Salvador ('02). He lives in Anchorage, AK with his wife and two kids.
