Deployment Director

Ottar Mobley

Ottar Mobley is Deployment Director at Launch Alaska.  As a member of the executive team, Ottar oversees the deployment team — working with climate tech companies, community organizations, and asset and infrastructure owners around the state to deploy decarbonization solutions to Alaska's challenges in energy, industry, and transportation, seeking to support $1 billion in clean energy projects in Alaska by 2030.

Ottar grew up all over Alaska, including Fairbanks, Anchorage, Sitka, and Ketchikan, and has family in Southcentral and Southeast Alaska.  He has a B.S. in Sociology and Anthropology from Millsaps College, a Master’s in Archaeology from the University of Cambridge, and a Master’s of Business Administration from the Quantic School of Business and Technology.

Ottar has a diverse background in social science, public policy, entrepreneurship, aviation security and counterterrorism, and renewable energy infrastructure.  He has served as a City Councilman and Vice-Mayor in the community of Thorne Bay, Alaska. Ottar lives in Anchorage with his wife and daughter.
