5 Launch Alaska Portfolio Companies Make TIME’s 2024 GreenTech List

Launch Alaska Portfolio companies make their mark by reducing environmental impact, and TIME is taking note.

A new statistical ranking published by the global media brand recognizes 250 of America’s top greentech companies – including five members of the Launch Alaska Portfolio

Portfolio companies are mid- to late-stage climate tech startups who’ve successfully completed Launch Alaska’s Tech Deployment Track accelerator program. America’s Top GreenTech Companies 2024 weighs data points including the value of the company's intellectual property portfolio, their revenue and funding, and industry-specific environmental data ranging from carbon capture to offsets to renewable energy generated. The companies on the list are helping to lead the charge toward a more sustainable world, and we’re proud to see these five named among them:

  1. ZeroAvia: Holding the top spot on TIME’s list, ZeroAvia is working to decarbonize aviation, building a zero-emissions, hydrogen-electric aviation powertrain. This fully electric propulsion system is powered by hydrogen fuel cells; ZeroAvia has partnered with Alaska Airlines to develop the world’s largest zero-emissions aircraft.

  2. Radiant: A nuclear power pioneer, Radiant is developing portable nuclear power reactors that can replace diesel generators, improve local air quality, reduce global warming, and be shipped out for refueling.

  3. Ebb Carbon: Ebb Carbon’s technology reverses ocean acidification while capturing and permanently storing CO2 as oceanic bicarbonate.

  4. ElectricFish: ElectricFish is building a software-powered distributed energy storage solution to improve the EV charging experience.

  5. ecoSPEARS: Using non-thermal and non-combusting remediation technology developed by NASA, ecoSPEARS eliminates toxins like PCBs and other persistent organic pollutants.
