FAQs

What does Launch Alaska do? Where do we work? Learn more about our organization, our deployment accelerator program, our projects, and the partners who make our work possible.

  • Launch Alaska exists to accelerate the energy transition.

We’re on a mission to decarbonize the globe, starting in Alaska. We cultivate partnerships to connect climate tech companies and customers, catalyze Alaska’s clean energy economy, and build a regenerative future for all.

To do this, we’ve set a big goal: We’re working to support deployment of $1 billion in climate tech projects by 2030.

  • Every year, we recruit game-changing climate tech startups to participate in our eight-month deployment accelerator program. Throughout the course of the program, we help these cohort companies build connections with potential customers in communities around the state. Together, they work to deploy technologies that reduce costs, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, create jobs, and unlock vast economic opportunities for Alaskans and the companies that do business here.

So far, this cycle has enabled us to support nearly half a billion dollars in total economic impact.

  • We work all over Alaska. While our team is primarily based in Anchorage, we support deployment projects in communities across the state, from Juneau to Fairbanks to Kotzebue to Kivalina. And we recruit climate tech startups from Alaska and beyond. The Launch Alaska Portfolio supports companies from around the U.S. and the globe, giving us the ability to connect Alaska communities with world-class energy, transportation, and industrial technologies.

  • The Launch Alaska Portfolio is comprised of companies who successfully complete our deployment accelerator program. As of 2023, those 32 companies include some of the world’s most innovative energy, transportation, and industry technology startups. Learn more here >
