Two Launch Alaska Portfolio Companies Among 11 Pre-Approved for Defense Geothermal Projects

Greenfire Energy and Sage Geosystems are among the 11 geothermal companies designated as “Awardable” by the United States Department of Defense, the U.S. Air Force announced in February. “This initiative will develop utility-scale geothermal projects at DoD installations, ensuring reliable, cost-effective power for critical military operations—even during grid failures,” Air Force Office of Energy Assurance Chief Innovation Officer Richard Hartman wrote on LinkedIn.
