As Director of People Operations, Janelle Ocampo leads Launch Alaska’s People function with a focus on developing workplace infrastructure where both people and the organization can thrive. She approaches everything through an HR lens, connecting people, workforce capacity, labor costs, compliance, and systems to the projects that fund the organization’s work.

In addition to her experience in Human Resources and working in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion space, Janelle brings 20 years of operations experience across business management, contracts, compliance, finance, systems, and organizational development. After a decade in corporate biotech, she moved into leadership roles with small businesses, startups, and mission-driven organizations, finding her stride building systems, solving problems, and helping businesses navigate growth and change. In recent years, her work has organically gravitated toward the People side, where her passion for helping others intersects with her drive to do meaningful work and contribute to something that makes an impact beyond herself and the business.

Janelle values peace and wellbeing, believes in being present and creating as many memorable experiences as possible, is known for her tenacity to get things done sooner rather than later, and considers playing Scrabble for hours a form of meditation. She enjoys time with her family, the good vibes of the ocean, the lushness of rainforests, and running along cliffside paths. Janelle is based in Hawaiʻi, Alaska’s sister state across the Pacific.
